.....I lost my playground.

Once upon a time........I lost my playground. For 14 years Facebook has been my creative wonderland. I have shared my quilts at This Quilting Mama, my teaching things at Mrs. Makrin's Music Room, and my faith-based seasonal studies at both The Musical Advent Calendar and Lenten Reflections by LRM. Oh, and then there was my Quarantine Chronicles, Farm, Field and Fireside, at my beloved At Peace. I will miss these places where I could write, share, and be me. I will miss my audiences and my Facebook Family. A hacker has made this playground inaccessible for me and all my followers. There is no going back. That's OK. Steve

At 49 years old, our friend Steve died. He leaves a mother and step-dad, his sister, his wife, and three beautiful children. Steve's story is only unique in that he was also a beloved high school choir director. Therefore, he also leaves hundreds of students and us, his close friends. How to say goodbye and simultaneously honor his life.....the only way we know how--- To Sing! 110 people gathered yesterday at Nassau Presbyterian Church in Princeton, New Jersey to sing and to uplift Steve's family and our fellow mourners in song. We sang "The Tree" by David Lockart, "Into the West" from the Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King by Fran Walsh, Howard Shore, Annie Lennox (Arr. by Alan Billingsley), and the beloved and glorious Peter Lutkin benediction "The Lord Bless You and Keep You." We joined the congregation gathered for hymns "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing" and "Amazing Grace" and we heard comfort in scripture and...

Welcome November!

Welcome November!! This is my favorite month of the year. It contains a holiday which has nothing to do with gift giving, a gigantic and traditional meal with family, and the end of my favorite season, Autumn. As I used to do on Facebook, I will continue the tradition here and write about something for which I am grateful each day of this month. The exercise is sacred for me as well as deeply therapeutic. Therefore today, I am thankful for my parents and the sense of humor they cultivated within me. My father's deep baritone laugh could be heard through the walls of his office into our home as they were connected by a door off the dining room. My mother still laughs in all times as she asks everyone she meets for coat donations for Schenectady's City Mission. (Got coats? Call me. HA!) As I age this particular character trait carries more and more weight in value as I navigate all that life is, and more importantly, all that life isn't and should be, in my humble opinion! (...
